Texarkana is getting ready for it's first ever color run appropriately named the Amanda Fussell Woodman Memorial CASA Colorful 5K and Family Fun Run.The event will take place at Trinity Baptist Church Texarkana, Arkansas Saturday, November 2. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race starting at 8 a.m. The Colorful 5K is a 3.1 mile fitness running/walking event on a cross country trail.

The race begins with each person releasing a bag of color into the air creating a beautiful burst of color. Stations will also be located throughout the race route where you will be showered with brightly colored powder, turning your white shirt into a color explosion. The color is made from eco-friendly food colored cornstarch.

Other activities include bounce houses, face painting, dunking booth and more. Fun photo packages will be available from Texarkana Photography and you can enter to win a CASA playhouse at the event.

The CASA Colorful 5K is named in AmandFussell Woodman’s honor for her many years of devotion to child abuse prevention in Texarkana and the surrounding 12 counties. Amanda worked tirelessly to promote the CASA for Children program, fundraising, recruiting and training volunteers along with her support for every aspect of the program.

CASA which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates is a national volunteer organization for neglected or abused children. CASA volunteers commit to a child until the case is closed and the child is in a safe, permanent home.
