Is that Hail or Snow on the Ground in Texas?

Mother Nature has been relentless lately, especially in Texas which has been hit hard with a string of deadly tornadoes and most recently hail that covered the ground that looked more like snow in Marathon, Texas.

Can you imagine going from the mid-90s to the mid-50s in about one hour? According to Accuweather, this was a rare weather phenomenon called "Hail Fog" caused when the temperature drops dramatically to the dewpoint with an abundance of hail more than normal.

ABC News reported that the hail that covered the ground had to be removed by snow plows, that's crazy if you ask me. The folks living in Marathon will probably agree that was a one-marathon hailstorm they're gonna be talking about for years. About 2 feet of hail and 2 and a half inches of rain reportedly had fallen in the downtown area of Marathon in an hour. Hopefully, everyone is okay and made it through the storm safely.

I did notice when storms moved through the Texarkana area the temperature dropped to 64 degrees that's pretty cool for this time of the year.

Mother Nature is not done yet more severe weather and rain are expected throughout the weekend for much of Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. If you get caught in a hail storm it's best to find shelter immediately if you can and stay away from windows.
