SHREVEPORT, LA – Tip jars are everywhere these days. Americans are being asked to tip for so many services these days. But we are tip frustrated. Who should you tip and how much?

We are paying more for everything we buy and tips continue to drive costs up. New survey by the group Toast says tips left for restaurant servers varies a ton depending on the state.

The most generous tippers are in Delaware. Guests dining out in that state tip an average of 21.8% on their total tab. California was the least generous state, tipping an average of 17.5%.

San Francisco is at the bottom with tips of just 17% for dining out.

Texas and Louisiana are at #43 and 44 respectively on the tipping list. Texas residents dole out 18.9% while Louisiana residents tip 18.8%, on average.
