Jason Aldean Channels the ’80s at Daddy-Daughter Dance
Who's going to be the star of the elementary school father-daughter dance? It's pretty easy to see that Jason Aldean took that challenge seriously on Mar. 10, when he accompanied his 10-year-old daughter Kendyl to an '80s themed event—and spared no detail in recreating a retro look.
"Me and Kendyl bout to crush it," Aldean noted on his Instagram account. Aldean was born in 1977, so he knows a thing or two about the '80s. He chose to combine a variety of era fashion touchstones; from a Michael Jackson Thriller shirt and red jacket, to a bandanna tied around his forehead Axl Rose-style. Oh, and there's those nylon pants...
Kendyl went for a classic Madonna look, with a tulle skirt, neon leggings, fishnet gloves, rubber bracelets, and a bow-adorned headband. Baby brother Memphis is in the shot too, but he apparently didn't get the memo to dress up.
Aldean told CNN back in 2009 that he enjoyed a lot of music from the era as a kid: He was a Guns N' Roses fan, and also did his best to emulate Jackson. "Used to wet my hair so it looked like a Jheri curl," he admitted. He didn't go quite that far for this particular event, but we think he did a totally bitchin' job overall!
Aldean recently released a new song, "You Make It Easy." It's the first single from his upcoming eighth studio album, Rearview Town, which is set for release on April 13. Aldean will hit the road in 2018 on his High Noon Neon Tour, which is set to launch on May 10 and run through Sept. 29. Luke Combs and Lauren Alaina will join Aldean on tour as support acts.
