Landmark on Pine to Bring Senior Living to Downtown Texarkana
Texarkana's downtown revitalization continues to gain momentum as Overland Property Group moves ahead with plans to transform two historic buildings into modern living spaces. Dubbed "Landmark on Pine," the project will bring new life to structures located in the 300 block of Pine Street, behind the Lofts at the Grim.
The buildings, which once housed the Texarkana Gazette and a former Sears store, will be repurposed into approximately 40 housing units designed specifically for senior residents aged 55 and up. The development is expected to offer a mix of unit sizes, with rental prices ranging from the mid-$400s to $1,100 per month, making it an attractive option for seniors seeking affordable and stylish downtown living.
With a total development budget of approximately $12.5 million, Landmark on Pine marks another significant investment in Texarkana’s ongoing downtown resurgence. If all goes according to plan, the apartments are expected to be completed and ready for occupancy by the summer of 2027.
This project is yet another example of efforts to preserve Texarkana’s rich architectural history while adapting spaces for modern use. It follows in the footsteps of other successful downtown revitalization efforts like Lofts at the Grim (below).
