Partners in Education and Volunteers Honored By T.I.S.D.

The Texarkana, Texas Independent School District has honored area partners in education and volunteers.

The annual recognition dinner was held by the district this week.

Awards were presented as follows: Wells Fargo “Volunteer of Distinction” Award presented to Maria Aguilar (Wake Village Elementary), Kelly Bixler (Morriss Elementary School), Mary Bruce (Westlawn Elementary School), Rainy Fincher (Nash Elementary School), Jimmie Graves (Theron Jones Early Literacy Center), Tonja Hays (Texas Middle School), Nancy Lanier (Highland Park Elementary), Melissa McHenry (Spring Lake Park Elementary), Vicki Post (Texas High School) and Dot Williford (OPTIONS Academic Alternative High School).

Little Caesars Partner of the Year Awards presented to FastSigns (Small Business/Group), TEXAR (Medium Business/Group) and Red River Federal Credit Union (Large Business/Group).

Little Caesars “Promise” Award for Boys To Men Leadership Academy presented to Kappa Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Ben King, Derrick McGary, Jason Rawls, Texarkana Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Texarkana ISD Maintenance Department, Theta Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Westside Church of Christ.

Little Caesars “Promise” Award for Precious Gems Social Club for Girls presented to Centre West Baptist Church, Gamma Kappa Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Kappa Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc., Texarkana Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., Texarkana College and Westside Church of Christ.

Little Caesars Volunteers In Public Schools Awards presented to Texas High School (Team I), Theron Jones Early Literacy Center (Team II) and Martha and Josh Morriss Mathematics & Engineering Elementary School (Team III).

Board of Trustees/Superintendent Award presented to Williams Memorial United Methodist Church.

The Partners In Education (PIE) program and Volunteers In Public Schools program enriches and maximizes the educational experiences of students and staff by developing cooperative partnerships with businesses, parents and community members.  The efforts of one person, one company or one organization can change the life of a student and make a dynamic difference in a program or a school.
