The Pleasant Grove Hawks high school baseball team has done it again, heading into the playoffs in Northeast Texas.

The Hawks wrapped up their fifth district title in a row last week and are now preparing for what they hope will be a deep playoff run. The Hawks finished the regular season with a 19-4 overall record and 9-1 in district play.

Hawk head baseball coach Riley Fincher gives the whole team credit. He says, "The unselfish play of the team this year has been great to watch. Every member of the team does whatever is needed to help their team be successful."

To make that deep run into the playoffs, Fincher says, "Our team will continue to need to compete everyday in practice at a high level and carry that over into the games. As always we will need great pitching and defense and execute on offense to give ourselves an opportunity to win each game."

The Hawks playoff run begins this Friday versus Tyler Chapel Hill. The one game first round playoff game will be played at Driller Park in Kilgore with the first pitch slated for 7PM.

Best of luck to the Hawks, and we will be rooting for them to make it deep into the playoffs.
