Don't Eat It, Throw It Away - Walmart Great Value Brand Frozen Shrimp
If you recently purchased the Great Value brand at Walmart, do not eat it. If customers believe they have purchased radioactive shrimp, they are asked to contact the store for a full refund or dispose of them. Walmart Great Value Frozen Raw Shrimp has been recalled in multiple states, including Texas and Arkansas.
The shrimp being recalled is an isotope called Cesium-137; the frozen shrimp was imported from an Indonesian company, PT Bahari Makmur Sejati. The FDA and Walmart are working with the seafood supplier on this recall, and to date, no products have tested positive. The recall was set in motion after it was detected that a single shipment of frozen shrimp may be radioactive, and the warning was issued by the Food and Drug Administration.
