Scary Situation Arkansas Woman Being Followed by Drone
Modern technology can be a good thing if it is used the right way, if it is used the wrong way it can be a very scary thing just ask an Arkansas woman who was recently followed by a drone while walking over the Big Dam Bridge in Little Rock.
The woman told THV11, that this was not the first time this had happened to her it's happened multiple times when she was walking. She also noticed that the drone seemed to be following other women as well and now she feels that are privacy is being violated not to mention she feels threatened and unsafe.
At first, she scoffed it off as maybe the police were doing some type of surveillance in the area which was not the case. The one scary thing was that the drone would get close to her and she could tell it was singling her out.
Arkansas Drone Law
Believe it or not, there are currently no laws in Arkansas that prevent a person from using drone technology to track or spy on someone. So far, it is not illegal to follow or fly a drone around a person, according to a Little Rock law firm but there are different laws that this could fall under such as stalking or harassment, and could be even deemed a terroristic threat if it causes the victim to become fearful of being hurt or even death.
The woman is now looking into whether the city has any rules in place for flying drones in public parks. County officials of the Big Dam Bridge maintain that the area has security and so far there haven't been any other reports of this happening. However, you are encouraged to call the police if you see any suspicious activity.
No Fly Zone?
We did learn that you cannot fly a drone in any Arkansas State Park without a permit and that there is a ban on flying one in federal parks, trails, or rivers, according to the National Park Service.
So, the next time you decide on flying a drone you best think where you are.
