We attended the Courthouse/Post Office/Christmas Tree Lighting and Time Capsule burial last Friday night, December 8 in downtown Texarkana and the weather cooperated, thank goodness.
The official start of the Christmas season starts the day after Thanksgiving. There's something really special about gathering the family together and looking for a real Christmas tree, sort of like Clark Griswold, a family tradition.
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree! I'm sure that song comes to mind when you're picking out that special tree for your home or business. After all, there is just something really special about finding that perfect LIVE tree during the holidays.
I had a friend who used to be so particular about putting her Christmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving and taking it down on New Year’s Day, except one year when she left it up until February. Of course, I can’t say much because I left my un-decorated tree in the corner of my living room from December of last year until October of this year.
Can anyone top that?
Ok, I can't help but notice lots of Christmas decorations going up around town and in local neighborhoods. Seems wherever you look the holiday spirit is touching folks everywhere.
