Commemorative Air Force

I'm sure most of you have seen the horrific crash by now that happened this past Saturday, November 12 at the Wings Over Dallas World War II airshow. Today the Commemorative Air Force released the names of the men lost in that accident.

Since my mother, and now a whole bunch of my new family (long story), lives in Houston, I make pretty frequent trips down there to see them. On one of those trips a few years ago I found out that the Houston Wing of the Commemorative Air Force is based at the West Houston Airport (IWS), very near my mother's house. Then I found out they have a "Hanger Hang Out" every three weeks or so on

How about a dinner and dance, 1940's-style, in an airplane hangar? Jeepers, that sounds swell! If you know me then you know what a huge fan I am of vintage warplanes and flying in general, which automatically makes me a fan of the CAF. So when I saw this event on Facebook I just had to let everyone know about it. I just wish it were a little closer. However, it might work for you.
