Sure, you may have known that The Republic of Texas has a standing Army, and you may have known that Texas has it's own Air Force, but now Texas is building a Navy.

I found a website with some really cool pictures of long forgotten Navy and merchant ships in Suisun Bay, which is about 30 miles from San Francisco. Over a two year period Scott Haefner and his friends snuck out on weekends to visit the heavily guarded ships which wait in line for disposal.
