Texarkana Arts & Historic District

The fall 'Bike Tours' are back in downtown Texarkana.

Work on the Federal Courthouse/Post Office Improvement project will begin later this month. Led by the Texarkana Arts & Historic District, the Courthouse Square Connections Project is a dual city effort to increase walkability and enhance the area around the existing United States Post Office and Federal Courthouse in downtown.

The weather is about to change to wonderful Fall, a good time to ride a bike.

The Texarkana Arts and Historic District will be hosting free bike tours of downtown Texarkana four Fridays this fall.

The Texarkana Arts & Historic District will host a celebration on Tuesday, October 25, in downtown Texarkana to recognize the accomplishment of being named a Texas Cultural District. The celebration will be held at 10AM at the post office in downtown Texarkana.

Remember 30 years ago when the community got together in front of the Post Office on State Line for "Hands Across America?"  If you took part in that, you know how amazing it was to be a part of something special. How would you like to a part of Texarkana history for something else very special downtown on Tuesday, Oct. 25. 2016 at 10AM?

The Texas Commission on the Arts, in its September 7th, 2016 public hearing, named Texarkana as an official Texas Cultural District.
