Governor Abbott Releases Video Message To Texans As Latest Executive Order Goes Into Effect

The order that came down today (Friday, March 27) about Bowie County "Shelter In Place", does not affect restaurants. Those that choose to stay open and serve their customers as best they can are listed below with the services that, to the best of our knowledge, are still in operation.

Governor Greg Abbott today sent a letter to President Trump requesting a presidential declaration of a major disaster in Texas based on the continued impact of COVID-19. This action follows on the heels of a series of proactive measures, including declaring a state of disaster for all 254 Texas counties on March 13, 2020.

AUSTIN - Governor Greg Abbott today announced that he has waived the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing requirements for the 2019-2020 school year. Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, and the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, will attend the REDI (economic development) announcement at the Federal Court House, located in downtown in Texarkana on Tuesday, September 4, at 3PM.

Both Governors from Arkansas and Texas will be together in Texarkana come September.
