Target Stores to Offer Changes and Specific Times for Elderly to Shop

Looks like Target stores are following other retail chains who are changing their hours and introducing specific shopping times for those most susceptible like seniors who are more likely to be infected by the Covid-19 virus.

According to a press release, Target stores will be closing by 9PM daily in order to restock their shelves overnight and allow time for cleaning and sanitizing properly. Some stores already close at 9PM and those stores will not be affected by the new hours.

The first hour that stores are open on Wednesday will be reserved for customers who are elderly or have an underlying health condition.

Target officials say they will fast-track their high demand items as well as adding extra payroll hours focused on just cleaning and sanitation. Any customer-facing touchpoint are expected to be cleaned every 30 minutes.

Target with snack bar seating and condiment areas will be shut down until further notice.
