The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will increase patrols looking for drivers under the influence, with an emphasis to enforce Arkansas’s underage drinking law.

If you have been listening to the Eagle (like we hope you are) you have heard the ads warning that Arkansas’ underage DUI law warns that it is illegal to be under 21 and have a blood alcohol content of .02 or above.

Currently it is illegal in all 50 states for anyone under 21 to consume alcohol.

(The legal age was 18 when I was young.  I remember when they changed the drinking age to 21 in Texas. It was still 18 for a while after that in Louisiana, but they eventually gave in for what, at the time, was supposed to be highway money… ???)

Do you agree with 21 being the legal age to consume alcohol?
