Texarkana Couple Charged With Abandoning & Endangering 6 Kids
A Texarkana Texas couple has been arrested for allegedly Abandoning and Endangering their 6 children after leaving them alone so they could go play video games.
It All Started With A 911 Call
According to the Texarkana Texas Police Department, They received a phone call last night around Tuesday, January 25 at 8:40 PM. The caller was worried about some children in a nearby house because the caller could hear the kids screaming and yelling for their mother.
Here's What Police Found At The House
Police arrived at the house to find 6 children ranging in age from the oldest at 7 years old to the youngest at 11 months old and they were all left alone in the house. One of the children told officers that their parents were at a laundry mat. One child, according to the TTPD Facebook page,
brought him a package of hot dogs and asked if he'd help him open it because he was hungry.
Where Were The Parents?
Police have no idea how long the parents had left the children but once police located the couple at a laundry mat they were so busy playing video games it was obvious to police that they really weren't very concerned about the kids.
At first, everyone there acted like they had no idea what he was talking about, but Eshaun Johnson eventually spoke up and said he was their stepdad. He agreed to walk back to their house when Officer Ward suggested that he might want to consider doing that. However, Marca Harris, indicated that she was much too busy playing her game to leave to go check on her babies at that moment
Both Eshaun Johnson and Marca Harris were arrested on the charges for allegedly Abandoning or Endangering a Child. Bond was set at $75,000 each. The kids are safe as the CPS was called and all the children were released to a relative last night.
