The Texarkana Warriors semi-pro football team is off to a good start in its 2016 season.

The team currently has a 3-2 record and is tied for first place in the Texas United Football League's Eastern Division. The Warriors have the same record as the Paris Stars. The two clubs have split their first two encounters this year. Texarkana won the first meeting 27-8, and Paris took the second contest 12-7.

The Warriors are a nonprofit team that are very active in the Texarkana community. Team members have read to students at local elementary schools, given blood at LifeShare Blood Center, and have spent time helping out at Runnin' WJ Ranch.

Throughout the 2016 season the Warriors are hosting benefit games during off weeks, donating proceeds and a portion of gate admissions from regular season games to local nonprofits including Domestic Violence Prevention, Inc.

This Saturday, the Warriors are in Marshall to take on the Rattlesnakes, with kickoff slated for 7PM. The team will also be on the road the following Saturday April 16 to take on the North Texas Outlaws.

The next home game for the Warriors will be Saturday April 23 against the Marshall Rattlesnakes at 7PM. Be sure to get out and support the Texarkana Warriors and their exciting brand of football.
