The Golden Chick, a Texas-based chicken chain has been serving customers since 1967, known for its succulent fried chicken, plump roasted chicken, southern fried catfish, chicken tenders, sandwiches, fresh-made rolls, and wicked wings.

You can top your meal with tasty sides like mashed potatoes, green beans, fried okra, French fries, dirty rice, and mac and cheese, to name a few.

The Golden Chick celebrated its third location in Texarkana with grand opening festivities. Besides the smell of great food, customers were treated to the prize wheel. Each spin allowed customers the chance to win some Golden Chick goodies. My favorite was the color-changing golden plastic cup. Fill it with a cold beverage and watch it turn yellow.

While I was there, I enjoyed the roasted chicken platter with a Cajun kick of dirty rice for the side. It was delicious!
