Texarkana’s Newest Restaurant is Now Open Downtown
The much-anticipated wait is finally over, Texarkana's newest eating establishment Café Lucille is now open in the historic downtown district at 306 Main Street.
This casual French-American Cafe is now serving breakfast, lunch, and to-go food with a full bar and a really nice courtyard. Owners Jason and Rebecca Williams are proud to bring their culinary fare and experience to the downtown area. Jason owner of his other restaurant in Texarkana, Benchmark: American Brasserie has named this eatery after his 8-year-old daughter Lucille.
Café Lucille not only offers healthier cuisine but also serves food that you may not find in East Texas and hopes to cater to a more female-oriented base with a variety of soups and sandwiches, fresh-made salads, pasta, and frozen drinks from one of four frozen drink machines according to an article in the Texarkana Gazette in 2022.
Some of the most popular sandwiches are The Downtowner, Ace of Clubs, and Crown Julis, they even have a sandwich named the Fouke Monster. My favorite is the Monte Cristo which I had for lunch and it was delicious. Be on the lookout for the Blue Plate specials coming soon!
Café Lucille also has a few favorites from the Benchmark menu including Duck Enchiladas and make sure you try their fresh pastries from the display case.
If you have a special event, party, anniversary, wedding, or reunion, their private courtyard is perfect and available for rent.
At Café Lucille brunch is served 5 days a week from 7 am to 6 pm and breakfast is served until 2 pm. Lunch is served from 11 am to 6 pm.
Café Lucille is proud to be serving the Texarkana community with great food in a nice atmosphere that represents the growing downtown area and the local people who continue to strive to make it a better downtown for generations to come.
