After sharing the heartbreaking news that he wouldn’t be able to tour with buddy Lee Brice due to vocal surgery, Tyler Farr is out of the operating room and doing well.

The singer posted a video on Facebook, assumably filmed by his fiancée Hannah Freeman (a female voice narrates the clip, though it is unclear whom it belongs to), of himself giving a groggy thumbs up after a successful surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal cords.

“Got some really good feel-good medicine,” the woman jokes as Farr stares at the camera, rocking his University of Georgia hat and hospital gown.

The operatically-trained singer has been having trouble with his voice since earlier in 2015 while touring with Jason Aldean. He was later diagnosed with the polyp after a run of bronchitis at the end of the year. Farr had to drop out of the upcoming Life Off My Years Tour with Brice to undergo the surgery and maintain vocal rest.

“This is the last thing I would’ve ever expected,” Farr said. “I sing hard, and I give it everything I have every night, but I really believed I was putting my training to work. After a No. 1 song, an awesome tour with Jason and getting engaged, this is not how I thought I was going to be winding up 2015.”

The artist will be working with Vanderbilt Voice Clinic following surgery in the hopes of returning to the stage in the spring. Maddie & Tae, Clare Dunn and Jerrod Niemann will be making up for Farr’s absence on Brice’s tour.

“I know what it takes to get out there and really deliver,” Farr says. “I hate canceling shows ... but I never want to give the fans less than everything … And I know the sooner I let my body heal, the sooner I can get back out there — and the fewer problems I will have in the long run. To me, it’s never about the next few days, but doing the right thing overall, and now I’m under doctor’s orders,” he said upon pulling out of the tour.

We’re wishing Farr a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on stage soon!
