Arrest Made In Triple Murder Case

from KSLA.COM

A 16-year-old female from the Redwater area has been arrested and charged with three counts of capital murder in the deaths of a Texarkana mother and her two children.

The Arrest comes almost three months to the day after the bodies of 34-year-old Amanda Doss, 8-year-year-old Texas Johnson and 11-year-old Guinivere Doss were pulled from the burnt and smoking rubble of their Bowie County home May 11th.

There were no solid suspects until a phone call around 8:30 p.m. Friday from a woman Bowie County Sheriff James Prince said was “pretty upset and crying,” saying she knew who killed Amanda, Texas and Guiniviere. She said her daughter had confessed.

Investigators immediately went to the home and interviewed the 16-year-old. Sheriff Prince says the girl was able to provide details that only someone who was at the scene of the crime and involved in the killing would have known.

No details have been released on what may have been the motive, but Prince says the teen was acquainted with the family.

Prince says they expect to try to have her certified as an adult to face the capital murder charges. No additional arrests are expected at this point, and the sheriff says he believes the community can rest easy now that the killer is no longer on the loose.

Since the investigation began, the total reward money for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the murders grew to $148,570.00, including $3,000 from the Texarkana Area Crimestoppers Board of Directors. Prince says the teen’s mother has told them she is not interested in the reward.

The teen is being held at an undisclosed juvenile detention facility.
