Authorities Have Solved the Mystery of the Missing Grave Flags in New York

How many flags would a woodchuck steal if a woodchuck could steal flags? Apparently, they can… and do.

In New York State, authorities were puzzled by who was stealing flags from Civil War graves at Cedar Park Cemetery. They even offered a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the thieves.

Determined to catch the vandals, they setup camera’s to monitor the cemetery and after reviewing the surveillance footage they’re proud to announce they’ve got their man, err, rodent.

It turns out, woodchucks were the culprits. Apparently, there’s a substance used in the flags that attracts the critters.
