As part of their ongoing efforts for National Heart Month, the American Heart Association, in conjunction with the San Angelo Community Medical Center and CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System, work together to raise awareness about congenital heart defects and heart disease through the Little Hats, Big Hearts Program, which provides handmade red hats to newborns.

It's been over a year since ground broke on the donuts of my dreams, Shipley Do-nuts, and it looks like we're getting close. Look there, in the window, it's a "Now Hiring" sign! I grew up in Houston where Shipley began, and I love 'em! I can only hope they live up to my memories.

This is a critical time of year for Lifeshare Blood Center needing blood donations at their center at 1321 College Drive or at any of the 39 scheduled mobile blood drives until Christmas Eve.  Donors that donate blood during their 12 days of Christmas have a chance to win over $1500 in prizes.

The Runnin WJ Ranch has been helping special needs children and teens in our area for nearly 20 years, now they need our help as funding is critically low.
