The first weekend of May is upon us and there are some great things going on in Texarkana that you don't want to miss! It's all about Music, Food and Drink.

Say goodbye to April Friday night April 30 with Clay Walker in concert at Crossties located at 324 East Broad Street in downtown Texarkana, Arkansas. Doors open at 7PM. You know it's going to be a great show with hits like She Won't Be Lonely Long, What's it to You, Hypnotize the Moon and Then What.

Then be sure to welcome the month of May on Saturday, May 1 with a visit to the Texarkana Farmers' Market's opening day. It's Meet Your Farmers Day. So, stop for a visit and buy some fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods, eggs and honey too. Open from 7AM to noon. Texarkana Farmers' Market is located at 305 Texas Boulevard in Texarkana Texas.

Later in the morning, throughout the day and into the evening from 11AM to 7PM, it's time for the 6th Annual Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival at Spring Lake Park. This event benefits The Alzheimer’s Alliance Tri-State Area. The festival has been voted the Best Charity Event in Texarkana in 2019 and in 2020. With Wineries from all over the state of Texas. Plus food and live music.

That's a full weekend because you'll need most of Sunday to recuperate and get ready for Monday.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
