Jeans & Bling Benefit Raises $61,000 for Hospice of Texarkana
Jeans & Bling 2017, the annual fundraiser for Hospice of Texarkana was held Oct. 14, at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center.
This year’s event made a profit of $61,000 that is designated to pay-down the note of the Hospice Care Center, which opened last year. The party featured a concert by rising country music star Lucas Hoge from Nashville, Tennessee. The well attended event also included the 2nd annual “Sing at the Bling Lip Sync Battle of the Hair Salons” which had the audience alive with laughter and applause. It began with a high-energy performance by the 2016 Champion, Matt Graves, who emceed the competition. The Competing Salons were: Texarkana College Cosmetology, Joey’s Salon and A Cut Above. All of the groups were electric and the audience chose the winner by voting with dollars. TC Cosmetology is the 2017 Champion and altogether the competitors raised $974.00.
The event also featured a Raffle, Silent Auction, games by Healthcare Express and door prizes. Next year’s Jeans & Bling event is set for October 13, 2018, so save the date. Want to personally thank Stefanie Brazile and Cindy Hall Marsh for allowing me to be the emcee once again this year. Special thanks to everyone who came out to support a great cause.
