In light of Governor Greg Abbott’s recent executive orders intended to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the City Council’s July 13th regular meeting will be conducted by video conference.

According to a press release, the meeting will not take place at City Hall.  The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6PM.

Virtual two-way communication with the Council will be available using Zoom video conferencing.  However, technical limitations necessitate reserving its use to only those who wish to comment during the public hearing scheduled during the meeting. Citizens wishing to address the Council as part of the public hearing on the proposed renaming of Alba Street to Savanna Hill Drive must pre-register by noon on Monday at https://tinyurl.com/txk071320.  Instructions on speaking during the public hearing will be provided upon registration.

For this meeting, public comments during the open forum segment of the agenda will be handled in writing only and will be read aloud during the meeting by the Mayor or City Secretary.  Anyone who wishes to submit comments to be read during the open forum segment must email them to City Secretary Jennifer Evans at j.evans@txkusa.org.  All comments must be received by noon on Monday.  The time allotted for reading each comment will be limited to no more than five minutes.

The public may view the meeting via internet Livestream using the “Agenda and Minutes” link on the City’s website, www.ci.texarkana.tx.us.  The agenda packet materials the Council will consider at the meeting will also be available there.
