Arkansas native and NBC The Voice finalist Barrett Baber was honored with a Key to the City in Fayetteville, Ark., on Tuesday night. Mayor Lioneld Jordan presented Baber with this honor and officially declared February 2, “Barrett Baber Day.” The ceremony took place at the City Council meeting.

“I’m really honored that the City of Fayetteville is awarding me the Key to the City. Fayetteville is a very special place because of where it is and the people that call it home. I am proud to be one of those people and was proud to represent such a wonderful place while competing on The Voice.”

Baber competed as a member of Blake Shelton’s team on Season 9 of The Voice on NBC. Baber owned the stage from round one and garnered the support of millions of viewers. This resulted in Baber taking home third place overall. After the show, Baber signed with William Morris Entertainment in Nashville, Tenn. Beginning Feb. 17, 2016 he will be the opening act for the superstar vocal group Rascal Flatts at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas for nine shows.
