As most of you by now an old Texarkana favorite restaurant Taco Tico will be re-opening in Texarkana soon.

I recently spoke with new owner Kim Gill, about opening Taco Tico.  "We are super excited to be able to bring back Taco Tico to Texarkana," said Gill. She and her husband Jerry have always loved the food at Taco Tico and missed it when it shut down several years ago.  "Recently, we were having lunch at a Taco Tico out of town when the idea came up about opening one back up here."

"We actually crave it, we can't get enough of it, so we checked into a franchise opportunity and finally came to the decision of doing it.

Gill assured me that they plan on setting some very high standards for the employees they hire and for the quality of food they serve. They also plan on making their own taco shells and chips fresh every day, in house. And besides serving the traditional menu items that Taco Tico is best known for, they are planning on introducing some new menu items like, brisket tacos and currently working on a new hot sauce as well.

The new location for Taco Tico will be in the current Subie's location on Texas Blvd. Subie's will be moving into the State Line Crossing Shopping Center. Gill said, restoration and renovation should begin in early July-August with the projected date to be open by September 1, or later in the month, depending on work factors.

Please feel to check her Facebook page for updates and more information.
