You know, yesterday (March 27) I did a blog talking about some of my favorite Easter memories as a child and made mention that I love those hollow milk chocolate bunnies. Oh, did I mention Peeps? You have to have those too!
Okay, Easter is this weekend and one of my favorite memories as a kid was getting the Easter basket. It was always filled with my favorite candy, including a chocolate Easter bunny. You know what I'm talking about - the one that is hollow inside. Oh, and you have to have one of those Cadbury creme-filled eggs.
Somewhere along the way, an egg-toting, gift-giving rabbit became associated with the Easter holiday. We assume that soon after, sadistic parents decided that it would be fun to make sure any likeness of this generous rabbit should be creepy and frightening so they can take pictures and video of their children being completely freaked out.
Though technically a religious holiday, Easter has become more synonymous with milk chocolate candies in the shapes of eggs and bunnies, fruity snacks in springy hues and all sorts of decadent desserts. Stock up on the goods in stores, but also think about making a few of your own delectable treats this year.
Pets are at their most adorable when wearing bunny ears, decked out in pastels or otherwise Easter-fied.
