This Saturday, April 5 local city officials, including Texarkana, Texas Mayor Bob Bruggeman and Texarkana, Ark. Assistant Mayor Mike Jones and Rep. Mary “Prissy” Hickerson, will be joined by PetSafe representatives and members of the community to celebrate a ribbon-cutting ceremony and proclamation at the PetSafe Kylee Sullivan Dog Park on the Texas side followed by a grand opening festival at the PetSafe JefFURson Dog Park on the Arkansas side of town.

  • The first ribbon-cutting ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. at the PetSafe Kylee Sullivan Dog Park located on 4303 North Park Road inside Spring Lake Park.
  • The second event will be at the PetSafe JefFURson Dog Park at 1520 East 12th Street across from Arkansas High School.

Both ceremonies will have refreshments and product giveaways provided by PetSafe. Students at College Hill Elementary will also be in attendance at the PetSafe JefFURson Dog Park to donate an agility ramp created for the new park. Our sister station Power 95.9 will be broadcasting live on location!

How both sides of Texarkana got a Dog Park.

(The PetSafe Kylee Sullivan Dog Park in Texas and the PetSafe JefFURson Dog Park in Arkansas. Texarkana, Ark. was awarded $100,000 to build a dog park after winning PetSafe’s Bark for Your Park contest in 2012, and Texarkana, Texas took home the $100,000 prize the following summer in PetSafe’s 2013 Bark for Your Park contest)

We are probably the only city in America that shares two Dog Parks from PetSafe.
