If you've been watching this season of NBC's The Voice then you probably got to see Texarkana native Stephanie Rice perform in the battle rounds for Team Gwen this past Monday night.

Rice was going up against talented 16-year-old Caroline Sky for the right to move on to the knockouts next week. Rice impressed the coaches with her unique style of singing with coach Gwen Stefani adding "You look like a star up there." The 27-year old Rice and her competitor did a cover of Rod Stewart's "The First Cut Is The Deepest."  Sky moves on as well as she was stolen in the battle rounds by Coach Blake Shelton.

Rice, who has a biology degree from Baylor University, decided that her love and passion for a musical career was more appealing. And now she is living out a lifelong dream doing what she always wanted to do.
Here's her performance Kelly Clarkson's "Piece by Piece" a few weeks ago.
