The Texas High School Tiger Theatre Company will present a Dave Clemmons Audition & Performance Master Class on Monday, September 14 in the John Thomas Theatre of the Sullivan Performing Arts Center, 3941 Summerhill Road. The Master Class will begin at 4:15PM with a Question and Answer session beginning at 8:15PM.

The four-hour Master Class will focus on enhancing the students’ overall performance and audition skills while the Question & Answer session, for students and parents, will cover information on the professional theatre industry and college auditioning for performing arts programs.

The master class is limited to 30 attendees - 10 soloists and 20 participants. Soloist spots are $50 each and available for high school students who will work on their musical performance and audition technique with Dave Clemmons during the master class. The 20 participant spots are $35 each and are available for seventh and eighth grade students and high school students to learn valuable audition and musical theatre techniques.

Soloists and participants should arrive 10 minutes before the workshop begins. Water will be provided. Soloists need to bring a complete audition package with them, which includes one, full-length Broadway song accompanied by a CD and sheet music. A monologue not exceeding 60 seconds can also be included in the audition materials. Students are also encouraged to bring a current head shot, resume and their audition book with all their musical selections and monologues.

Dave Clemmons is an in-demand teacher and lecturer, having taught at every major music theatre training program in the country as well as Master Classes in New York, LA, Chicago, Boston, Houston and Orlando. He is a visiting professor from the acclaimed Elon University Musical Theatre Program and is a permanent faculty member and musical director/conductor of The Performing Arts Project, faculty for the Making it On Broadway Intensive Series in New York and LA and is Advising Faculty member at The New York School of Film and Television’s Musical Theatre program.

Clemmons began his career as a performer on Broadway with roles in Les Miserables (Valjean), The Civil War (original company), The Scarlet Pimpernel (original company and Chaeuvelin an original concept recording) and performed in countless other Broadway productions.
