The second annual Cattle Baron's Ball Stateline Stampede is coming to Texarkana Saturday, October 4, (7 p.m.) at Bandana Ranch to benefit the American Cancer Society. And yesterday (9/30) I had a chance to talk with Tracy Byrd on the phone.

In talking with Tracy it sounded as though he is ready to get back out on the road and is definitely looking forward to coming back to Texarkana for the Cattle Baron's Ball to benefit the American Cancer Society. This performance will be very personal to him as he just lost his father to cancer. Byrd was very upbeat and personal in our interview and touched on his children's musical talents among other things.

If you missed the interview on the radio, here it is.

Tracy Byrd who hails from Vidor Texas has sold 6 million records, done more than 4000 shows worldwide and produced two #1 hits, four top five hits, 15 top ten singles. In 1995 "Keeper of The Stars" was the Academy of Country Music song of the year.

In addition, there will be other live music performances on the grounds including a killer band from Southeast Oklahoma 2 Gun Justice, and VIP's will get treated by a performance from East Texas native and Nashville newcomer Taylor Heard.
