2024 CPKC Holiday Train is Coming to Texarkana

All Aboard! The 2024 holiday season is upon us and the CPKC Holiday Train is headed to Texarkana with Santa Claus on December 2.

2024 CPKC Holiday Train

The Candian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train will begin its journey on November 21 through December 20 marking its 26th year of bringing holiday cheer to cities and towns across CPKC locations in 13 states and 7 locations in Canada.

Arrival in Texarkana

This festive decorated train will arrive in Texarkana at West 4th Street east of Lelia Street at 4:45 PM on Monday, December 2. The train will be here for 30 minutes before departing for its next destination in Shreveport at 7:45 that evening.

This train reminds me of the movie, The Polar Express, with no Tom Hanks but fully adorned and decorated from one end to the other with thousands of bright colorful LED lights and holiday designs you can't miss seeing coming down the track. The CPKC Holiday Train will feature special musical artists' performances at each stop along the route.

Musical Guest Performances

American Authors and KT Tunstall will entertain the crowd at the Texarkana stop while the kids visit Santa Claus and his elves and tour the train. Tours of the train are free but a monetary cash donation or food donation is encouraged to help bring awareness to the importance of donating to our local food banks in the community.

Donations are Encouraged

The CPKC crew will be donating to the local food bank at each stop. The holiday train has raised more than $24.3 million as well as collecting approximately 5.3 million pounds of food for community food banks in Canada and the U.S.

The CPKC Holiday Train is not to be confused with its counterpart the CPKC Holiday Express which will be on its tour across Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. Looking at its schedule there are no stops in Texarkana this year.
