This man is a hero in more ways than one!

According to WRAL, last weekend, 70-year-old Phillip Brooks was enjoying breakfast at Waffle House in Fayetteville, North Carolina when a man rushed in and demanded money from the cashier. While several other customers ran to find safety and one woman pulled her two children into the bathroom to call 911, Phillip resorted to his Army training from when he served in Vietnam.

He saw that the man's gun was not real.

The would-be robber was carrying what others thought was an AK-47 however, Phillip saw that most of it was made of wood, there was no trigger guard and no trigger. With no working parts to be seen, he told the girls behind the counter not to give him anything because his gun was fake. This triggered the robber and he turned his "gun" onto Phillip.

It was then that Phillip knocked the robber in the nose with his cane.

Next the two engaged in a little scuffle of cane vs. fake gun. By then the other customers had joined in on taking the robber down. He fled the scene and authorities are still looking for him.
