Residents Should Stay on Alert and Cautious
Caution should be on high alert, living in the burn ban communities, and precautionary measures should be of high importance in the rest of the state. See an updated map of burn bans now in effect, with more expected to be added depending on weather conditions. Burn bans are determined by fuel conditions, drought, and long-range weather forecasts. There are generally 4 risk levels: low, moderate, high, and extreme.

Extreme is the highest, which means fires start quickly, spread quickly, and burn intensely. Any fire started has the potential to become potentially dangerous and erratic.
