There's no doubt this has been a hot, brutal summer, but Arkansans could be in for a rare treat next week when a cold front dramatically lowers the temperature some 10-15 degrees. If we can get through these next few days, next week promises to look much better.

Dramatic Weather Changes Ahead for Arkansas

It's not the time to quite break out the hoodies just yet, but we can expect much cooler temperatures at night with highs during the day reaching the upper 70s and 80s.

Arkansas Cool Down - Central Arkansas

According to the National Weather Service and THV11 meteorologists, with much lower humidity, Arkansas could enjoy some pleasant days. Beginning on Tuesday, August 26, and continuing through the rest of the week, temperatures are expected to struggle to reach 90 degrees, with lows at night in the mid-60s in Central Arkansas. Slight chances of rain are also forecast next week.

Northern Arkansas - Temperatures Will Feel Fall-like

Fall-like temperatures are expected for the northern sections of the state, with daytime temperatures in the 70s and lows in the upper 50s.

Southern Arkansas - Cooler Temperatures and Chance of Rain

In the southern part of the state, rain chances increase on Tuesday with the approaching cold front, and temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s during the day and lows near 70 at night.
