The Arkansas Department of Public Safety and the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) have introduced a bi-monthly podcast series, 10-8, designed to educate and inspire law enforcement professionals across the state. Available on YouTube and Spotify, the podcast serves as a platform for sharing expertise, fostering community, and promoting wellness within the demanding field of law enforcement.

Each episode of 10-8 delves into key topics such as leadership strategies, updates on legal standards, training practices, and the importance of mental and physical health. Roundtable discussions and critical incident debriefs featuring law enforcement professionals further enrich the conversation.

The podcast is hosted by CLEST Director Chris Chapmond, a veteran with nearly 30 years of experience in various roles, including detective, SWAT operator, and public information officer. Deputy Directors Eric Wacaster and Jason Lawrence, co-hosts with over 30 years of combined experience, bring additional expertise to the show.

“We invite our law enforcement partners to engage in discussions to enhance professional skills and build stronger relationships between officers and the communities we serve,” said Director Chapmond. “The goal is to equip officers with the knowledge and resources they need to excel.”

The podcast, named after the 10-8 code for “in service,” reflects its mission to support active and engaged law enforcement personnel.
