The Ashdown Panthers beat the Arkansas High Razorbacks, 4-1, Thursday, in a baseball game at Razorback Field

Offense was hard to come by as both teams combined for only six hits. Arkansas High scored their only run in the first inning. After back to back singles from leadoff hitter Steven Boyce and Cameron Jones, Boyce was able to score on an error by Panthers third baseman Briar Reed to put the Hogs up 1-0.

The Panthers offense finally came to life in the top of the sixth inning led by cleanup batter Tyler Olson who blasted a triple to the gap in right centerfield. Austin Ashley, who reached on an error, scored on the play. After a walk to Drew Day, Drew Akin drove Olson home with a base hit to centerfield. The Panthers added another run when Reed was hit by a pitch from Arkansas High's Brady Chattaway with the bases loaded. Ashdown added another run in the final inning to make the score 4-1.

Arkansas High finished with one run on two hits and two errors. Ashdown finished the game with four runs on four hits and two errors. Josh Reynolds took the win on the mound for the Panthers, Chattaway took the loss for the Hogs.

Arkansas High will be back in action tomorrow at home against Benton.
