This event is always free and always worth the trip.

This weekend will be loud in Bossier City, Louisiana as Barksdale Air Force Base hosts their annual Defenders of Liberty Air Show which attracts more than 100,000 people each year. The event is free and open to the public on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1 with free parking. Gates will open at 9 a.m. both days with the show starting at 11 a.m.

This year's headliner is the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

They will be showing off their acrobatic demonstrations in the F-16 Fighting Falcon. You'll also see plenty of other aircraft including the B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit, B-29 Superfortress, B-17 Flying Fortress, B-25, and of course the pride of Bossier City, the B-52. That's just a few of the planes you'll see.

In addition, there will be plenty of static displays for you to get up close and personal with on the tarmac.

On display will be the B-52 Stratofortress, B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit, F-15C Eagle, F-15E Strike Eagle, T-6 Texan II, T-38 Talon, CV-22 Osprey, C-130J Hercules, KC-135 Stratotanker, and UH-60A BlackHawk in addition to plenty of more aircraft.
