Finalists Announced for 2025 Big Tex Choice Awards at State Fair of Texas

The countdown is on for one of the most delicious traditions in the Great State of Texas: the 21st Annual Big Tex Choice Awards at the State Fair of Texas. Known for celebrating the boldest, wildest, and most creative food and drink innovations, the contest spotlights the best concoctions concessionaires have to offer. This year’s competition features a new twist, a fourth category dedicated entirely to drinks, called “Best Taste – Sipper.”

Out of a record-breaking 76 entries submitted by 50 concessionaires, 15 finalists have been selected to compete for four top honors:

• Best Taste – Savory
• Best Taste – Sweet
• Best Taste – Sipper
• Most Creative.

Judges evaluated each creation based on uniqueness, presentation, creativity, and, of course, flavor. The winners will be announced on Thursday, August 21, during a private judging event featuring celebrity panelists. And don’t worry, every semifinalist entry, whether it made the finals or not, will still be available to fairgoers this fall. So, if it sounds good, you will still have a chance to get it.

The 2025 State Fair of Texas, themed “Texas Shines Bright,” runs from Friday, September 26, through Sunday, October 19, at historic Fair Park in Dallas. With new foods, exciting shows, family attractions, and that one-of-a-kind Texas charm, the Fair promises fun for all ages.
