Texarkana Residents on Alert: Boil Water Before Using
Residents living in these areas are advised to boil water before consumption, including before washing hands or face, brushing teeth, and drinking. Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria. Residents must boil water for two minutes before using it for cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled before use for drinking water. Customers can purchase bottled water or use a different resource if needed.
The public water system will issue a notice to customers once the boil water notice is no longer in effect. Texarkana Water Utilities apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to customers during this time.
