
Officer-Involved Shooting in Bryant, AR Under State Police Investigation
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred Monday night in Bryant.
State Police Requested to Investigate
The Bryant Police Department requested CID assistance on Tuesday, December 16, following an incident involving members of the Bryant Police Department and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office Joint SWAT team.
Disturbance Call Leads to SWAT Response
According to authorities, officers responded around 10:20 p.m. on Monday, December 15, to a reported disturbance involving a weapon in the 1100 block of S.W. 4th Street. Upon arrival, officers made contact with an individual, now identified as female, inside the residence who reportedly refused to exit the home.

Due to the circumstances, the joint SWAT team was called to the scene and began negotiations in an effort to resolve the situation peacefully.
Shooting Occurs After Suspect Exits Residence
After several hours of negotiations and multiple attempts to have the woman surrender, officials say she exited the home armed and fired at officers. SWAT team members returned fire, resulting in the fatal shooting of the individual.
No law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.

Investigation Ongoing
The deceased, an as-yet-unidentified woman, will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where the manner and cause of death will be determined. The Arkansas State Police CID investigation remains ongoing.
