Benton Breaks Ground + Records: Biggest Buc-ee’s Ceremony Ever

If you live in Texarkana, you'll be happy to know that you won't have to travel more than 121 miles to the nearest Buc-ee's coming to Benton, Arkansas.

Record-Breaking Crowd For Groundbreaking

A record number of people, approximately 400, showed up in Benton on Wednesday. making it the largest crowd ever gathered for a Buc-ee's groundbreaking ceremony. According to KARK-TV,  20 shovels, turning some dirt, free food, and lots of cool Buc-ee's souvenirs were handed out to the festive crowd. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders spoke to the crowd about her own experiences when traveling through other states with a Buc-ee's.

When Will It Open?

The 74,000 square foot travel center will be located at Interstate 30 exit 114, with plans to have the new store up and running by September 2026. Buc-ee's officials have stated that once it opens, the state can expect five million people to visit on an annual basis. That's not only good for the state's economy, but a welcome sight for more job opportunities for hard-working Arkansans. The travel center is expected to offer 200 jobs for the new Buc-ee's featuring 120 gas pumps.

If you have never been to a Buc-ee's, it's worth the drive because they pretty much have everything you need under one roof. Don't leave before trying their world-famous Beaver nuggets, brisket sandwiches, or beef jerky.

I can't wait until it opens. I travel to Little Rock quite often, so that will definitely be on my list. A second location is coming to West Memphis, and the company is looking for a third location in Arkansas to build one.
