Canadian Wildfire Smoke Arrives into a Portion of Arkansas
If you're traveling through Arkansas today, you may notice the skies may look a little hazy, especially in the northwest corner of the state. That's because the smoke from those Canadian fires has drifted into a portion of the state.
Canadian Wildfire Smoke Drifting Into a Portion of Arkansas
According to KARK-TV, wildfires in British Columbia have moved south into the central United States. The haze was seen hanging over Benton County in Northwest Arkansas late Thursday evening. The smoke, which is high in the atmosphere, gives the sky a washed-out look while sunsets and sunrises could be more colorful.
However, the smoky skies will not last long as a cold front is expected to move through the state on Saturday, clearing any disruption and improving the weather conditions in Arkansas. Rain is expected overnight in the northwestern part of the state, moving out by early Saturday morning, leading to much cooler temperatures in the low 70s.
