Students from Atlanta, Linden-Kildare, Queen City, Bloomburg and McLeod will view a mock accident scene where drinking/drug use and driving have fatal consequences, complete with emergency responders, ambulances and LifeNet helicopter services. The mock accident scene is scheduled for today Wednesday, May 1, from 9AM - 3PM at the  Atlanta High School, visitor parking area east of football stadium.

According to a press release, They will then view a video of actions leading up to the wreck and the serious legal results following the event.

Special guest speaker for the event is Jarrod Hogue who will talk about having to deal the consequences of drinking and driving that resulted in a fatal accident. Courtney Holland, from the Cass County District Attorney’s office, will also be speaking on the costs and penalties offenders may face.

Students will also be able to participate in several activities such as field sobriety tests, drunk driving course, rollover convincer, distracting driving demonstration, CPR instruction, electrical safety and also pick up information from various sponsored booths at the event.

In case of rain, an alternate date for the event has been set May 15.
