April 17 will mark 50 years to the day that the Ford Mustang made its first appearance at the New York world's fair. And as part of the Ford worldwide celebration of events, the Four States Mustang Corral Club of Texarkana will help celebrate at Mclarty Ford at 3232 Summerhill Road on Thursday, April 17.

There will a display of classic Mustangs, lots of prizes, a cookout and the local unveiling of the 2015 Mustang. You can even watch a simulcast of Ford Motor Company events from an auto show from New York, Las Vegas, Charlotte Motor Speedway and around the world.

In addition, on April 18 there will be a Cruise to Historic Jefferson,Texas for the Outlaw Nationals Car Show with plenty of sightseeing, shopping and dining for everyone.

Then on April 19, the Four States Mustangs Show and Shine at Central Mall will take place. Registration opens at 8 a.m. with Cash awards, raffle and 50/50. Every entry will receive a commemorative plaque. Cost: $30 pre-registration received by April 12 and $35 after that date.

And to wrap up all the celebration events throughout the week on April 19, the T-Town Cruise In, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Four States Auto Museum 217 Laurel St ,downtown Texarkana.

Probably, my favorite Mustangs of all-time are the Mustang Cobras and Mach series. The 1977 Mustang Cobra II was one bad to the bone car and it was extra special since that was the year I graduated.
