The day begins with a reenactment of the Skirmish at Prairie D’Ane Battlefield at 11 AM. This is a battle that took place in 1864 and is the closest Civil War battle to Washington, Arkansas.

Now, here is something super cool: the reenactment will take place on a portion of the original battlefield at 2243 Highway 19 North in Prescott, just off I-30 at Exit 46. Admission on Saturday is $10 per vehicle, and visitors can also explore military encampments throughout the site.

Experience Life on the Home Front in Arkansas During the Civil War

Bring your hoop skirt because the day concludes with a Civil War Period Ball at 7 PM.  Admission to the Historic Washington State Park events is $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 6-12.

Be sure to stop by Williams Tavern and buy a delicious lunch between 11 AM and 3 PM.
