Texarkana College is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 - October 15, 2024

With the temperatures cooling off over the weekend, I couldn't help but start thinking about those wonderful fall festivals. Then I realized it's time to get ready for a great one in east Texas a short drive from Texarkana that will be opening up soon.

The date is set for the tastiest event in Texarkana, one that I personally look forward to every year, Harvest Regional Food Bank's Taste of Texarkana returns on October 22, 2024. Put it on your calendar now so you don't forget.

If you are a fan of House of the Dragon or anything from medieval times then you will love the Arkansas Renaissance Festival which runs until September 29, in a 15th Century permanent Village located on 80 acres just outside of Conway, Searcy, and Heber Springs.

Over the past month, the staff at Abby Road Texarkana developed a pet supply drive for the Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption Center. The community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, and the drive will culminate this Saturday, September 7, with a huge pet event.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love the sound of big beefy radial engines roaring up the flight line or maybe a Rolls-Royce Merlin-powered P51 screaming down on show center for a knife-edge photo pass. I'm talking about air shows baby, and there's a good one coming soon in Big D.

If you thought that just because the temperatures will start dropping soon that the Farmers' Markets in town were done and over with, well think again.

It's about that time of year again for the Miller County Fair and Rodeo September 20-21, in Fouke, Arkansas at the Miller County Fairgrounds.

So, maybe it's time to start boning up on your Scottish because, believe it or na, there be a Scottish Festival in the Great State of Arkansas this October. So, if you have an interest in kilts, Celtic Rock, meat pies, sheepdogs, and bagpipe music, you dinnae wan'y miss this.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) will host its 31st Annual Community Fish and Chicken Fry on Thursday, September 26, from 4:30 PM to 7 PM. This year, the event will be a drive-thru only.

One of the most popular new events in East Texas is coming to historic Jefferson, Texas on September 20-21, the second annual Woofstock 24.

Groceries are expensive. I'm usually in a bit of shock when I hit the pay button. We are all struggling to find the best prices and a lot of us go to Walmart for that reason.
