With the temperatures cooling off over the weekend, I couldn't help but start thinking about those wonderful fall festivals. Then I realized it's time to get ready for a great one in east Texas a short drive from Texarkana that will be opening up soon.
The date is set for the tastiest event in Texarkana, one that I personally look forward to every year, Harvest Regional Food Bank's Taste of Texarkana returns on October 22, 2024. Put it on your calendar now so you don't forget.
If you are a fan of House of the Dragon or anything from medieval times then you will love the Arkansas Renaissance Festival which runs until September 29, in a 15th Century permanent Village located on 80 acres just outside of Conway, Searcy, and Heber Springs.
Over the past month, the staff at Abby Road Texarkana developed a pet supply drive for the Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption Center. The community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, and the drive will culminate this Saturday, September 7, with a huge pet event.

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) will host its 31st Annual Community Fish and Chicken Fry on Thursday, September 26, from 4:30 PM to 7 PM. This year, the event will be a drive-thru only.
